Lupo, Grind & Tamp, Wax and Beans and Kardoma lead 10 Bury cafes checked 25 Oct: hours, menu prices and hygiene ratings, from Ramsbottom to Prestwich.

The Bury cafes people look for most are Lupo Caffè Italiano in Prestwich, the Good Food Guide’s North West winner for 2025; Grind & Tamp on Bridge Street in Ramsbottom for speciality coffee; Wax and Beans, the record shop and cafe on Market Street; and Kardoma in Whitefield. Every entry was checked against the cafe’s own website, or its own Instagram where it has no site, on 25 October 2026.

We have not visited these cafes for this guide, and none of this is a review. Each entry says what the cafe says about itself, what its menu and opening hours show, and its Food Standards Agency hygiene rating. Cafe hours change through the winter, so check before a special trip.

The Cultured Bean and Drinc on Bridge Street in Ramsbottom are long-standing names, but we could not find a website or recent post of their own to confirm current hours, so they are not listed yet.

How we chose

These are the cafes that come up most when people search for cafes in Bury, picked on the record rather than on taste: national guides such as the Good Food Guide, awards the cafes have won, how long they have traded, and their food hygiene ratings. Every cafe here holds a rating of 4 or 5. We checked each cafe’s own website or social media for its hours and for any closure notice, and say so where a fact comes from somewhere else.
