Tinie Tempah's 12 October in-store show at Wax and Beans on Market Street has sold out, as have Jake Bugg and Shed Seven. Deco and The Mercians still have places.

Tinie Tempah will play a live show inside Wax and Beans, the independent record and coffee shop at 16 Market Street in Bury town centre, on Monday 12 October. Every place has gone.

He is one of five acts the shop has lined up for in-store shows between now and the end of January. Three of those have already sold out. The listings are on the shop’s own website, where each show is sold as a bundle: you buy the artist’s new CD or LP, and your name goes on the door.

Places were as shown on each bundle’s page on Thursday 1 October.

Each show is tied to a new record:

  • Tinie Tempah is promoting The Night’s Not Dead, which the shop describes as a series of chapters following a night out from start to finish.
  • Deco are celebrating their album Dreamhouse, released on Friday 23 October, five days after the show.
  • Jake Bugg brings Alamo, his seventh album, produced by Jimmy Hogarth.
  • Shed Seven have a self-titled seventh album. The shop’s listing notes they had two UK number one albums in 2024.
  • The Mercians, from Leicester, are touring their debut album, Author of My Own Misfortune, on LAB Records.

How the in-store shows work

The rules are the same on every listing:

  • There are no tickets. No paper or digital ticket is issued. Names are on the door.
  • Entry comes with the record. You pay for the CD or LP, and entry is included.
  • Collect your record on the night. For the Deco show the album is not out until 23 October, so the shop says those records are collected on or after that date, or posted for the cost of postage.
  • All ages. The Tinie Tempah, Jake Bugg, Shed Seven and Mercians listings all say the show is open to all ages.

A small shop with a busy diary

Wax and Beans describes itself as an independent record shop “in the heart of Bury town centre”, selling new and second-hand vinyl alongside its coffee. Its in-store diary has been filling quickly. Gia Ford played a free ticketed show there on 19 September. The Tinie Tempah, Jake Bugg and Shed Seven bundles have all appeared on its website since 21 September.

If you want something else on in the town over the next few weeks, our Bury What’s On this month page has the full list.

What it means for you

  • If you want to see Deco or The Mercians, buy the bundle from the Wax and Beans website. There is no other way in.
  • If you missed out on Tinie Tempah, Jake Bugg or Shed Seven, the listings do not mention a waiting list. Ask the shop on 07793 013808 or hello@waxandbeans.co.uk.
  • If you are taking children, four of the five listings say the show is all ages. The Deco listing does not say either way, so check with the shop.
  • If you are driving in, the town centre car parks and their prices are on our parking in Bury page.
