Not in this guide

Levanter and Baratxuri, the Ramsbottom tapas and Basque restaurants that used to top most lists of places to eat in Bury, both closed in 2023; The Caterer reported that Levanter shut after nine years, citing energy costs and the return of full VAT. Campo in Whitefield, Sawadee Thai Dining in Ramsbottom and Jewel in the Crown on Bolton Street come up often in searches, but we could not find a website of their own to confirm current hours, so they are not listed yet. Taso Tapas Bar on Radcliffe New Road is still awaiting its first hygiene inspection. Pubs known for their food, such as the Eagle & Child in Ramsbottom, are in our Bury pubs guide.

How we chose

These are the restaurants that come up most when people search for places to eat in Bury, chosen on the record rather than on taste: national guides such as the Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide, how long a restaurant has traded, and its food hygiene rating. Every restaurant here holds a rating of 4 or 5. We checked each one’s own website for its hours and for any closure notice, and say where a fact comes from somewhere else.
