Jack and the Beanstalk at The Met, 5 to 28 December 2026, tickets from £15. Every performance time, the relaxed, BSL and pyjama shows, and the school rate.

Bury’s pantomime this Christmas is Jack and the Beanstalk at The Met on Market Street, running from Saturday 5 December to Monday 28 December 2026 in the Derby Hall. Tickets start at £15. The press night on 8 December sold out in September and several weekend shows were already marked “selling fast” when we checked, so the good seats will not last until December.

The show

It is a Met production with the Big Tiny Production Company: Jack swaps the family cow for a handful of beans, climbs to a kingdom above the clouds, and has to outwit the Giant with the help of Dame Trot and Fairy Beansprout. The Met pitches it at “families, schools, and anyone who loves a great laugh”. No cast has been announced and no running time is published yet.

Other pantomimes within reach

Bury has one professional panto. Summerseat Players’ 2026-27 season at the Theatre Royal in Ramsbottom has Frankenstein in November and Noises Off in January, but no Christmas show, and Ramsbottom Civic Hall lists no pantomime. The nearest alternatives are in Bolton, Manchester and Salford, and are best checked on those theatres’ own sites.

Getting there

The Met is on Market Street, a two-minute walk from Bury Interchange, where trams run every few minutes from Manchester: see our tram times page. Council car parks are free after 6pm, so the 6.30pm shows are free to park for, and Sunday parking is a flat £1.50; the tariff is on our parking page. The Christmas lights switch-on and the Santa Specials are the other two big December dates in the town centre.

What is still to be confirmed

The cast and running time, which The Met usually announces in the autumn. We will check the event page again in mid-October.
